Modlin mayhem

Richmond audiences once again proved they can’t get enough of singer-songwriter Natu Camara.

Performing at the Modlin Center at the University of Richmond, Natu delivered an electrifying performance that had the packed house on its feet. Students, faculty, and members of the community filled the hall as she introduced several new songs from her upcoming album, backed by a dynamic and resurgent band.

As the energy built throughout the night, the audience eventually joined the celebration on stage, turning the performance into a joyful communal moment.

Between songs, Natu spoke about her upbringing in Guinea and her ongoing advocacy for the protection and empowerment of young women : a message that resonated strongly with the Richmond audience.

Following the performance, fans gathered around the merch table to meet the artist, support the music, and contribute to causes close to her heart.

Among them is Harlem Meet Africa, an annual celebration of African and local culture taking place June 26 at the Marcus Garvey Park Amphitheater in Harlem.
